Beginning Again: My Writing Journey What if beginning again isn't about starting from nothing-but finally learning how to use what you've already had all along? I've wanted to write books for years. I've created characters, imagined stories, built relationships, and watched entire scenes unfold in my head. I've even written some of them. But wanting to write a book and actually knowing how to write one are two very different things. So, I'm beginning again. Beginning Again: My Writing Journey is my personal journey of learning how to write digital books-from understanding the craft and discovering my strengths and weaknesses, to practicing scenes, developing characters, building story universes, and learning how to turn the stories in my head into words on a page. This isn't a finished writer teaching you how to write. This is me learning. There will be lessons. There will be exercises. There will be old stories revisited. There will probably be mistakes. And hopefully, there will be growth. One lesson. One exercise. One chapter at a time. Just some poems I feel vulnerable enough to share.

Blackmoor is not the sort of place that appears on ordinary maps. It is a small town where the rain never seems to stop, strange things happen in the shadows, and magic is as much a part of everyday life as the old stone streets beneath your feet. Fifteen-year-old Alex Devalie has lived at Hollowmere Orphanage for as long as she can remember. She has no family, no memories of the life she had before the orphanage, and no idea why she was left there. But Alex has always known there was something different about her. When strange things begin happening around Blackmoor, Alex finds herself drawn into a world she never knew existed a world of forgotten secrets, mysterious people and magic far older than she could have imagined. The more she discovers, the more she begins to wonder about the one thing she has never been able to remember: Who was she before Hollowmere? About the Poem The Life She Sweeps is a quiet reflection on exhaustion, invisible work, and the lives we sometimes find ourselves living without ever choosing them. Through the simple image of a woman sweeping a staircase, the poem explores the weight of routine, lost dreams, and the silent emotions hidden behind ordinary moments. About the Author I am Lavanya Y. Rao, a new writer who has recently started writing poetry. I write about my thoughts, emotions, and the little things I come across in everyday life. Sometimes a thought stays with me, sometimes a moment inspires me, and sometimes a feeling simply turns into a poem.
